The Cold Steel CS90WHA War Hammer is a formidable recreation of the powerful weapon used by 13th Century Knights. Designed for combat against opponents encased in plate steel armor, this War Hammer combines historical accuracy with modern craftsmanship for an affordable yet highly effective weapon. Crafted with precision, the War Hammer features a heavy hammer head capable of crushing even the strongest helmet or suit of plate armor with just a few blows. The back spike, reminiscent of a modern can opener, can rip through helm and plate, delivering a decisive blow to the enemy. In battle, the hammer side is used first to knock down and stun the opponent, and then the back spike is employed to deliver the coup de grace. Weighing a little over 2.5 lbs., the War Hammer is highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands. The head is drop-forged out of 1055 steel and differentially heat-treated, ensuring the spike and hammer face are fully hardened for piercing and crushing tough materials. The handle, made of straight grain American Hickory and measuring 30″ long, provides tremendous leverage for powerful blows. Sturdy steel langets, included for assembly, protect the handle from attacks by opponents with edged weapons.
