Description
The Chaves Knives line is committed to creating durable, stylish, and premium knives and tools.
Each model from the Knives line was designed by USA-based knifemaker Ramon Chavez. His designs have become popular because of their rugged and ergonomic construction, and this production line creates them in larger quantities and at a more accessible price.
The line is manufactured by Reate using the best materials available and exacting standards of excellence. Because of their quality, issues like blade play, stiff action, and lock stick do not affect Chaves knives. Models are made in small batches, so if one speaks to you, don’t wait around on it. Once it’s gone, it may be a while before it’s back.
The Sangre 229 is a different animal altogether from Ramon Chavez with utility functionality at the forefront of its design. It pairs a Wharncliffe blade with a slender, tapered titanium handle that is reminiscent of Ramon’s famed 228 design. The frame lock features a replaceable lockbar insert/overtravel arrestor and the knife is complete with a partial titanium backspacer.

I bought mine back in 2023 as my favorite blade shape is Wharncliffe, it started off rough with the thumb studs tearing my fingers to pieces. but as i worked with it improved tremendously. Its fit an finish are amazing and the blade holds its edge forever that edge retention is no joke. As it has gotten older it has also gotten smoother. Its now my grail with attitude, she works better than any wharnie i have ever had. it has also gotten so smooth i can reverse flick it and made its self a perfect edc. It is a conversation piece of a knife i suggest you get it while it lasts.

Thank you for leaving that information. I’m sure it will help others making their decision. And yes, a lot of times Knives take on a much better personality after a little bit of time. Sometimes it goes the opposite way though. Lol however, with Chaves, you really can’t go wrong they make a very high-quality knife and all of their engineering is very well thought out. Thanks again – CM.
